NetSuite is an incredibly robust tool, but let’s be honest—it’s massive. When you’re managing complex data daily, every click and keystroke matters. If you find yourself digging through menus or manually scrolling through endless records, you’re working harder than you need to.
I've compiled the NetSuite Tips & Tricks Infographic below to help you transform into a power user. These shortcuts aren't just "nice to have"—they are essential time-savers designed to boost your daily efficiency and reduce manual friction.
Why Use These Shortcuts?
Navigate Faster: Jump directly to specific records without touching your mouse.
Data Entry Ease: Use smart date and math shortcuts to skip the formatting headaches.
Precision Searching: Find exactly what you need with wildcards, even if you only have partial information.
Quick Highlights for Your Daily Routine
1. The Power of the Global Search
Stop scrolling. By using prefixes like cus: for customers or so: for sales orders, you bypass the noise and get straight to the data.
Pro Tip: Adding a + to the end of your search keyword will include inactive records in your results—perfect for those "where did that old file go?" moments.
2. Date Entry Hacks
Forget typing out slashes or dashes. NetSuite is smarter than that.
Press "t" for today’s date.
Press "y" for yesterday.
Use + or - to toggle dates forward or backward.
Type numbers directly (e.g., 09272024) and let NetSuite do the formatting for you.
3. Built-in Calculator
Did you know you can do math directly inside amount fields? Instead of reaching for your phone or opening a calculator app, just type your equation (like 10 + 15) and hit enter.
4. Finding Lost Fields
Can't remember which subtab a specific field is on? Search for the field name in the Global Search, select the "Field" result, and NetSuite will take you there and make the field blink so you can’t miss it. If this does not work check your Home - Set Preferences settings, Analytics subtab and check Page Search.
